What We Do

Alternative Peer Group

Family Inspired Recovery is focused on the Alternative Peer Group Model (APG). The APG provides an encouraging social environment and a new peer group focused on enthusiastic recovery and growth. This method of recovery support helps teens learn positive coping skills from people around their age along with recovery coaches and clinical oversight.

Social Activities

The biggest trigger for a teenager to use is boredom. We take that away by provide safe and fun activities during times the teens would be most triggered. Our weekend activities encourage teens to get to know one another and create a positive friend group.

Family Support Groups

Our group sessions are provided by licensed professionals. With your adolescent and family members in mind, we seek to improve communication, coping skills, and develop realistic goals to support the success of the family.  Donny Wright, LPC, NBCC, CADC III is a dual diagnosis counselor who has been providing mental health and addiction services in the area for over 15 years.

Parent Program

A major part of your child success depends on the whole family. Participating in the program along with your teen can provide encouragement in a “show don’t tell” way. FIR provides weekly parent group meeting with a focus on the difficulties that parents face with a child in the early stages of recovery. Here the parents can process their feeling, gain insight, and learn how to best support their teen in recovery.

Retreats

When teenagers are able to get away from their phones and regular routines we find that they are able to make long lasting connections. We help them through therapeutic retreats including backpacking, rock climbing, and hiking.

Continuum of Care for Adolescents

Experts increasingly recognize the importance of “continuing care”– some type of support, which could be either professional or non-professional support that follows the primary treatment episode – to help adolescents maintain and build on gains made during initial treatment.  Recovery Research Institute
